FIELD TRIP -- THE DIABLO RANGE, OPHI0LITES, & METAGRAYWACKES


Leaders: Russ Evarts (U.S.G.S.), Bob Coleman (Stanford), and Gary Ernst (Stanford)

On Saturday, November 2, 1996, we will headed across the Diablo Range, saw the Hayward fault, stopped at Mount Hamilton observatory, and headed east to the Del Puerto ophiolite. On Sunday we stopped at several Franciscan localities on the Pacheco Pass road (Hwy. 156) near San Louis Reservoir and hammered on Franciscan jaditized metagraywacke.
